River Valley Community Church
COMMIT.GROW.SERVE.SEND
How do you describe a fellowship made up of people from different backgrounds, occupations, ages, style preferences, and life experiences?
...we call it River Valley Community Church.
River Valley is a community of people devoted to the truth of the Bible and who are striving to be like Jesus. Truth, transparency, and authenticity are important to us at RVCC, and we look for ways to incorporate those into everything we do.
We are a simple and streamlined church without a lot of programs. We are a new church looking for people with vision and energy to impact the community.
We are not perfect people. We strive to be honest about our struggles and seek answers, to move us beyond the habits that got us there.
Together, we are on a journey to become the church Jesus had in mind. Dont be afraid to check out our fellowship and join in the journey. Following God is always an adventure!

OUR PASTOR
Pastor Roger Mantel is a gifted preacher and has a passion for ministry. Speaking and teaching about Gods Word and seeing the Holy Spirit transform lives through the message of the gospel brings him great satisfaction.
He loves people and thrives in any environment where he can be ministering to and connecting with people.
Roger has 10 years full-time ministry experience. Eight of those years were in youth ministry. He received his MDiv. from Northern Seminary in Lombard, Illinois. However, he will say the degree has less value than life experience and living out what he has learned from the study of scripture through the years.
Roger loves the outdoors, hunting, camping, and fishing. He is a musician, having met his wife of 21 years when they were in a Christian band together, touring the country in a 15 passenger van.
Dont let the fact that Roger is a Californian native fool you. He put his surf board aside to value life as a Godly husband and father. He is blessed to have three arrows in his quiver: David-20, Arielle-18, and Moriah-14. Both girls are homeschooled.
Besides homeschooling, Rogers wife, Christy,
is busy in ministry as well. She has worked alongside her husband through his years in ministry helping him teach youth and working behind the scenes administratively. She has a degree in music, but would prefer to be known by her faith and ministry to family and church. Christy loves scrapbooking and cooking for her family.
He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant not of the letter but of the Spiirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life
2 Corinthians 3:6
Our Church Vision
We envision a church that will share the Gospel and bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in a true salvation experience. Our aim is to disciple individuals and bring them into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through the study and understanding of Gods Word, to help them develop a Christ-like maturity, and equip them for their ministry in the church and their mission to the world in order to bring honor and glory to Gods name.
We envision nurturing the spiritual growth of children, youth and adults through Bible study, small group discipleship, fellowship, and by building transparent, genuine, Christ-like relationships. We will produce a healthy church by developing spiritual leaders and mentors that will generate relevant, life transforming opportunities to strengthen the entire family.
We envision a church fellowship that is mission-minded with an enthusiasm for studying, embracing, and applying the Word of God in their lives. They will have great expectations for living out Gods standards based on scripture and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They will have a passion for Gods Word, Gods people, Gods mission.
